Frequently Asked Questions

No referral is required to use our services.

With your permission, we can communicate directly with your healthcare providers to explain our role and collaborate in supporting your care.

Our goal is to improve patient understanding and satisfaction while supporting providers. We ensure all questions are addressed and help translate medical information into clear, easy-to-understand language.

By reinforcing care plans and spending additional time educating patients, we help reduce preventable issues such as medication mismanagement, misunderstanding of treatment plans, and unnecessary hospitalizations.

When patients fully understand their care, outcomes improve—for everyone involved.

Absolutely. Not all of our services are listed online.

We encourage you to schedule a complimentary consultation so we can discuss your situation in detail. Together, we’ll determine whether we can provide the support you’re looking for and create a plan tailored to your needs.

Many people don’t realize how valuable healthcare advocacy can be—until they experience the difference firsthand. It’s common to leave a doctor’s appointment feeling rushed, uncertain about next steps, or unclear about new medications and treatment plans.

You may be prescribed a new medication without fully understanding potential side effects, interactions, or alternative options—only to receive a brief explanation at the pharmacy counter. Important details can easily be missed in today’s fast-paced healthcare environment.

With a dedicated Nurse Advocate by your side, you leave every appointment with clarity and confidence. We ensure your questions are answered, your treatment plan is clearly explained, and you fully understand your next steps.

Beyond the appointment, we go even further—coordinating communication among your providers to make sure your care is aligned, organized, and working together seamlessly.

Healthcare decisions are too important to navigate alone. We are here to make sure you are informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

To ensure you remain fully in control of your care—without restrictions or limitations—we do not bill insurance for our services.

If you receive medical services during a provider visit that are eligible for insurance reimbursement, we ensure your insurance is properly billed for those medical services. Our advocacy support, however, remains independent so we can work solely in your best interest.

We begin with a complimentary consultation to understand your specific needs and goals. From there, we develop a personalized fee structure based on the level of support required. Our services are tailored, and pricing reflects the individualized care and advocacy you receive.

We primarily serve older adults, adult children who are balancing busy lives while supporting aging parents, and caregivers managing complex medical needs.

Many of our clients are navigating multiple providers, diagnoses, medications, and transitions in care. We specialize in bringing clarity and coordination to medically complex situations.

No. Healthcare advocacy is different from home health services.

Home health services are typically time-limited and based on insurance authorization. While some agencies may provide companions to ensure safety at appointments, they do not offer medical advocacy.

Our Father Patient Advocates is not a companion service—we provide professional nursing advocacy focused on understanding, coordinating, and managing your healthcare.

Can you help if I am outside of Illinois?

Yes. We offer virtual advocacy and consultation services for clients outside of Illinois. We have also assisted families with identifying appropriate care and placement options in other states.

Schedule a consultation to discuss how we can support your specific situation.
